Fear

Fear Beyond Reason is a story about what happens when the line between professional duty and personal grief disappears. I wanted to explore how far someone is willing to go for the truth when that truth threatens to destroy what little they have left. At its core, this is not just a murder mystery, but a story about family, buried pain, and the quiet fears that shape our choices long before a crime is committed.

Author’s Note

L.A.P.D. Detective Clay Connor, and his gentle giant partner, Bear Sikorsky, follow the clues into the dark past of Clay's murdered brother. Can Clay. one day before retirement, hold it together long enough to find his brother's killer? Is a $4M dollar insurance policy, for his wife, too obvious. What about Sailor, his wife's sheepherding partner, who lives on their property? How about his brother's confrontation with a contractor over unpaid bills and, who is Alice, who shows up in Eddie's shadowy past? Bear has to hold Clay back on a case Clay isn't supposed to be investigating because he's a family member, but Clay won't be held back.
